Custom Transfer Stickers by Cutting Plotter
Transfer stickers, also known as transfer decals or transfer letter stickers , are a type of special sticker that requires the use of a cutting plotter or engraving machine for production. The specific process typically involves the following steps:
- Design Creation: Start by designing the desired artwork, text, or graphics using graphic design software. Ensure that the design is in vector format, as this will facilitate the cutting process later on.
- Vectorization: Convert the designed artwork into vector format to create precise outlines. This step involves converting the design into a series of mathematical lines and curves that the cutting plotter can understand.
- Cutting Plotter Setup: Load the vectorized design file into the cutting plotter’s software. Adjust the settings of the cutting plotter according to the type and thickness of the material being used for the transfer sticker.
- Cutting: Once the cutting plotter is set up, initiate the cutting process. The cutting plotter will follow the vector outlines of the design and use a sharp blade to cut through the material, creating the desired shapes and patterns.
- Weeding: After cutting, manually remove the excess material surrounding the cut designs. This process, known as weeding, involves carefully peeling away the unwanted material to reveal the desired transfer sticker shapes.
- Transfer Tape Application: Apply transfer tape or transfer paper over the top of the cut designs. The transfer tape has a sticky surface that allows the cut designs to adhere to it.
- Transfer: Carefully lift the cut designs from their backing material by peeling away the transfer tape. The designs will adhere to the transfer tape, allowing them to be transferred onto the desired surface.
- Application: Place the transfer tape with the cut designs onto the target surface, ensuring proper alignment and positioning. Press down firmly on the transfer tape to ensure good adhesion of the designs to the surface.
- Removal: Slowly peel away the transfer tape, leaving behind the cut designs on the target surface. Gently smooth out any air bubbles or wrinkles in the transferred designs for a clean finish.
By following these steps, transfer stickers can be efficiently produced and applied to various surfaces for decorative or promotional purposes.
Transfer Sticker Paper
When using transfer stickers, simply apply the entire sticker to the target surface and then peel off the backing paper. This way, the pattern will remain on the target surface, while the transfer film will be removed, revealing a clear and complete pattern.
Transfer materials are typically divided into two categories: paper and film. Paper transfer paper has a certain level of transparency, with adhesive on the back, and its viscosity can be classified as high, medium, or low according to requirements. This enables paper transfer paper to adapt to different sizes and complexity of design requirements. Additionally, the adhesive of paper transfer paper typically has stability and environmental friendliness, making it widely used.
In contrast, transfer film is more suitable for scenarios requiring high-definition patterns. It can present more refined graphic expressions, allowing designers to achieve more complex and exquisite pattern designs. Due to its material characteristics, transfer film is commonly used in situations that demand high-quality printing effects.

When designing and making stickers, there is an important rule regarding size: whether it is the printed part of the sticker or the hollow part of the design, their minimum size must be greater than or equal to 1 mm. This is because details smaller than 1 mm are difficult to achieve during the production process and cannot ensure the accuracy and quality of the design. Therefore, in order to ensure the overall effect and quality of the sticker, we cannot accept design elements smaller than 1mm in size. This provision ensures that each design remains recognizable and functional after production.
Regarding order quantities, we offer flexible options to meet the needs of different customers. Black and white materials are our standard stocked materials, so for stickers in these two colors, we provide a service starting from a single piece, suitable for customers requiring small quantities or personalized customization. For stickers in other colors, the minimum order quantity is typically between 50 and 100 pieces, making them suitable for commercial projects or larger-scale personal use. Additionally, for colored stickers, we set the minimum order quantity at 100 pieces or more to accommodate customers requiring a richer color palette.
